RACHEL BELLINGER
I’m a mother, writer, and yoga teacher living in the wild in the Pacific Northwest. Writing, yoga and service have been enduring throughlines throughout my life. From a young age, my heart ached for injustices and I have found immense purpose in using my gifts and privilege for good. Writing is how I make sense of the world and how I create impact. As a yogi and a meditator, I pay attention to the stories we tell ourselves and how they shape our world.
In my consulting work, I blend an entrepreneurial spirit with a mission-driven heart to tell stories that matter. As a communications consultant and strategic advisor for global NGOs, grassroots nonprofits, and mission-driven businesses, I help organizations frame their work in a compelling way so they can raise money to further their missions. My approach is grounded in IDEO’s human-centered design, Mighty Ally’s brand strategy for social impact, and Black Fox Global’s approach to fundraising. Previously, I was part of the founding team at DoneGood, named “the Amazon for social good” by Forbes.
A devoted yoga student for over 20 years, I began teaching in 2017. I wandered into my first yoga class at 18, and since then, my practice has been a refuge for healing, insight, and well-being. I’ve studied with senior teachers at Baptiste Power Yoga in Boston, The Yoga Barn in Bali, Freedom Yoga in Thailand, and other renowned studios. In 2016, I completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga & Vinyasa Yoga at Sampoorna Yoga in India. Now, I maintain a dedicated home practice, teach at retreats in the Pacific Northwest, and lead a weekly class at Whidbey Island Yoga.
I have an MBA from Northeastern University, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from Colorado State University, and have completed over 500 hours of training in yoga, meditation, and trauma healing across India, Thailand, Bali, Hawaii, and Boston. Originally from the Midwest, I’ve lived in Colorado, Boston, and South Asia, before settling on Whidbey Island in Washington with my son, husband, dog and cat.
